Amy Winehouse hasn't taken drugs for a year, her father has told the Home Affairs Committee.

Mitch Winehouse was speaking to MPs during a discussion of the cocaine trade when he made the comments – he's currently making a documentary about rehabilitation services for heroin addicts.

Criticising drug rehab provisions for the poor, he said Amy Winehouse was lucky they could afford private treatment.

"We were very fortunate - we were able to afford the best doctors, clinical psychologists, rehabilitation and hospitals," Mitch Winehouse said, according to BBC News.

Amy Winehouse has spent much of the past year on the Caribbean island of St Lucia.

друзья, «оксвордские убийцы» победили здоровый сон.
на самом деле мне оооочнь понравилось. после таких фильмов хочется быть ботаников математимом любятелем цифр.
хотя, конечно, все эти "крылошки бабочки" >< немного пугают да.
аа еще там играл парень из торчвуда ога. только он играл русского студента БОдрова, хотя мне всегда казалось, что у него типично валлийская внешность с этими откратительными узкими губами.

btw кто-нибудь смотрел? у меня есть вопрос, очень вопросительный.

Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan slipped up onstage this week, by thanking the wrong country during a recent show in Peru.

The band who were playing Peru's capital Lima on Tuesday (October 13) finished the gig with frontman Dave Gahan shouting "Thank you very much, Chile!" to 30,000 screaming fans.

The slip was particularly embarrassing since Peru and Chile are historical enemies, with a dispute between the neighbouring countries dating back to a 1879-84 war.

Gahan is not the first singer to make such a mistake – Canadian singer Alanis Morissette also thanked the wrong country while playing in Peru in 2003, shouting, "Thank you, Brazil!"

Pete Doherty has cancelled his Irish tour after being hospitalised last night (October 12), suffering breathing difficulties.

The tour was due to start at Belfast's Mandela Hall tonight.

A statement from Doherty's agent confirmed that he is currently under observation by doctors and will not play the tour as scheduled: "Last night Peter Doherty was admitted to Swindon Hospital with exhaustion and breathing difficulties. He is currently under observation by doctors."
