Lily Allen is urging fellow musicians to take a stand against illegal file sharing.
Speaking on her Myspace blog, the London singer called on other musicians to help her stamp out illegal file sharing.
"I think music piracy is having a dangerous effect on British music, but some really rich and successful artists like Nick Mason from Pink Floyd and Ed O'Brien from Radiohead don't seem to think so," she wrote.
"The Featured Artists Coalition [FAC] also says file sharing's fine because it 'means a new generation of fans for us'. This is great if you're a big artist at the back end of your career with loads of albums to flog to a new audience, but emerging artists don't have this luxury."
She added: "Basically the FAC is saying 'we're alright, we've made it, so file sharing's fine', which is just so unfair to new acts trying to make it in the industry."
Going on to talk about her own debt with her record label and also about record labels investment in A&R (Artists and Repertoire), she closed the blog by saying:
"I'm going to be writing [to] British artists, saying just this: File sharing's not okay for British music. We need to find new ways to help consumers access and buy music legally, but saying file sharing's fine is not helping anyone - and definitely not helping British music."

Keane drummer Richard Hughes is to accompany Amnesty International to visit a prisoner held on death row in the US state of Georgia this Friday (September 26).
Hughes says the case of inmate Troy Davis is a "terrifying illustration" of why the death penalty should be banned.
Davis was convicted in 1991 of killing police officer Mark Allen MacPhail in Savannah, Georgia in 1989, despite authorities being unable to find a murder weapon or physical evidence linking him to the crime. Seven of nine witnesses in the case later changed their initial testimonies against him in sworn affidavits.
"I am going to Georgia with Amnesty International to meet this remarkable man and his family; to show my support for him and to try to shine a little light on his case and the terrible effects of continuing to execute people in the name of justice," Hughes said in a statement.
The drummer is to visit the Diagnostic And Classification Prison in Jackson, Georgia to meet Davis, who last year came within two hours of being executed.
"Troy is innocent, yet he has been on the brink of execution, only last-minute judgements keeping him alive. He continues to fight for the chance to prove his innocence," he continued.
Last month, the US Supreme Court ruled that Davis should be allowed a new court hearing to establish his innocence.

Carl Barat and Adam Green played a joint gig together in Paris on Friday night (September 18), in a show that featured the two collaborating on each other's material and Barat debuting new songs.
The duo played Paris' Centre Pompidou and were backed by Green's band and a string section. Watch fan recorded video footage of the gig below.
As well as collaborating on The Libertines' 'What A Waster' and Green's 'Friends Of Mine', Barat played several new solo songs, with titles including 'So Long My Lover' and 'We Are All Heroes'.
Both Green and Barat were in a relaxed mod during the gig, with the former fooling around with a roll of gaffer tape throughout, before finally breaking his guitar with a mic stand
